SATURDAY 11TH JULY | 10.30-12.30PM
Learn how to use an iron to safely fuse soft plastic packaging into a versatile art and craft material with artist and experienced teacher Rachael Barns. You will find out about the different plastics that can be used and how to create a range of coloured and patterned materials. You will use these to make a pair of earrings and a brooch.
Templates will be provided but you will also be supported to create your own designs. You will use hand sewing to join the pieces of fused fabric – you don’t need to have great sewing skills to do this, if you can sew on a button you can do these stitches!
Rachael will also bring examples and give you ideas about other ways you could use fused soft plastics in the future.
