Sgraffito Coasters with Charlie

Sgraffito is the art of scratching through a slip or underglaze on green ware (unfired pottery) to reveal the surface underneath. The design is created through the contrast of the two.

You will be decorating a set of three square coasters, painted in a black underglaze, ready for carving.

The workshop is inclusive of all materials and firing. Charlie will bring a selection of glaze swatches so that you can choose a colour for your coasters.

Charlie will take your work away for firing and will let you know when it is ready for collection from Anteros. This will be in four to six weeks time. Please bring any books, photographs or drawings along for inspiration.
