About the event
In this Norwich in Watercolour class, you will be guided through the principles of watercolour and explore the heritage of Anteros Arts, culminating in paintings inspired by this beautiful building.
Practising artist and tutor Maria Belderbos will take pupils through the fundamentals of watercolour painting in a concise, visual mini-lecture with content engaging for both beginners and intermediates. Following this, Maria will lead a tour around the building, sharing the history of this architectural gem. During this time, pupils will be given the opportunity to sketch and snap details that catch their eye.
The second half of the workshop will be a supervised painting session, allowing students to combine what they have learnt about watercolour with their heritage-themed inspirations.Â
Maria Belderbos is a multimedia artist based in Norwich. As winner of the Sworders Emerging Artist Prize, she will be exhibiting a portrait and landscape collection in Fairhurst Gallery, Norwich Lanes, this September. Maria’s creative practice is driven by a desire to capture the personality of her subject, be that person or place, and the beauty of the detail within.Â
