Here are the confirmed authors for October Book Slam...

DAN COXON

Dan Coxon is an award-winning editor and writer based in London. He has been nominated for a Shirley Jackson Award and six British Fantasy Awards, and in 2022 his non-fiction anthology Writing the Uncanny (co-edited with Richard V. Hirst) won the British Fantasy Award for Best Non-Fiction. His collection Only the Broken Remain was shortlisted for Best Collection and Best Newcomer in 2021.

JOSEPHINE GREENLAND

Josephine Greenland is a Swedish-British writer from Eskilstuna, Sweden. She has a BA in English Literature from the University of Exeter and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Birmingham. She is currently studying for a PhD in Creative Writing with a focus on climate fiction at UEA in Norwich. Her first novel, Embers, was published in 2021 by Unbound. She is currently querying her second novel.

LYNNE BRYAN

Lynne Bryan is the author of a short story collection, Envy at The Cheese Handout (published by Faber & Faber), the novels Gorgeous and Like Rabbits (Sceptre), and the memoir Iron Man (Salt). She has co-edited six prose anthologies and her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Her story – ‘A Regular Thing’ – was made into an award-winning Danish short film, and Iron Man won The East Anglian Book of the Year Award 2022.

RICHARD BLANDFORD

Richard Blandford is the author of the novels Hound Dog, Flying Saucer Rock & Roll, Whatever You Are Is Beautiful and the short story collections The Shuffle and Erotic Nightmares. He has also studied and taught art history and is the author of the visual history London in the Company of Painters. His nonfiction writing has been published in the Guardian and art periodicals Frieze and Elephant. He lives in Worthing.

DAVID FRANKEL

David Frankel’s short stories have been shortlisted in numerous competitions including The Bristol Prize, The Bridport Prize, The Society of Authors’ ALCS Tom-Gallon Trust Award for short fiction, and the Fish Memoir Prize. In 2019 he was longlisted for BBC Short Story Award. His work has been widely published in journals and anthologies and as chapbooks by Nightjar Press and Salo Press. His first collection, Forgetting is How We Survive, is published by Salt.
