About the event

Learn how to design, cut and print a jigsaw-cut lino print, and create beautiful prints to be proud of.

What is a jigsaw cut? It's an easy way to print with two colours using just one piece of lino (called a 'plate'); and it's perfect for bold designs, where there is no overlap of colour. You create and carve your design, chop up the lino into sections, then ink them up separately and place the pieces back together before printing.

Safi Butler teaches this advanced course, so if you have a basic grasp of lino cut and would like to take the next step from printing in one colour, this workshop is a perfect progression. You'll be guided through every stage, both in groups and individually. We'll be designing, cutting and printing a 10 x 15cm soft-cut lino in two colours; you'll then use this to create some beautiful prints.
