About the event
Learn how to make your own linocut Christmas cards in this workshop for complete beginners and learners alike. Taught by local linocut printmaker Haychley from Stellabox Designs.
In this workshop, you’ll learn step-by-step how to make a Christmas themed linocut print in black ink to print onto blank cards.
Cards can then be hand-coloured using watercolour when dry after the workshop if desired.
You’ll begin by drawing your own design or using one of the designs provided and transferring it to a linocut block. As a group we’ll go through the stages of carving, inking and printing your block either by hand or using a small press.
You'll talk about tools and techniques and you can ask as many questions as you like.
Participants will leave the workshop with their linocut Christmas cards and their lino block to continue making more at home if they wish.
All tools and materials are provided. The workshop is very hands-on, with everything explained in demonstrations as you go along in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
