About the event

Contemporary folk artist and singer-songwriter Lewis Barfoot returns to the UK for an 11 date solo tour this November. She writes mystic and majestic songs that stop you in your tracks and has been captivating audiences with her beautiful voice that “Melts the Hearts of Angels” according to Folk Radio UK.

Born in London and now based in her maternal home of Cork since 2019, Lewis seamlessly blends her dual heritage into her music. Her sound is marked by an uncomplicated loveliness, combining ethereal, evocative vocals with original compositions and re- imagined traditional songs from Ireland and the British Isles. She is frequently compared to the likes of Kate Rusby, Sandy Denny, Eddie Reader and Maíre Brennan.

With two full-length albums, "Glenaphuca" and "HOME," under her belt, Lewis is set to share music from both, along with tracks from her new EP "The Old Bog Road”. Accompanying herself on nylon string guitar, shruti box, and live vocal loops, she creates a rich, immersive soundscape an unforgettable live experience.

Lewis's live show is a journey into the heart of contemporary folk music; her fearless and disarmingly honest lyrics, combined with her brilliant storytelling and magnetic stage presence, promise a show that will leave you blown apart—in the best possible way.

This will be her fifth UK tour. Prior to her solo work, Lewis sang in Irish with the London based folk ensemble Rún, playing at Glastonbury, The Union Chapel and UK folk festivals, releasing two EP's with them Beidh Aonach Amárach and Seo is Siud.

‘The Old Bog Road” is due for release in October 2024.
