About the event
This taster session will explore the basics of writing prose fiction: how to create a convincing character, what makes effective dialogue and how to bring a setting to life. You’ll look at examples from bestselling writers, breaking down their techniques, and have plenty of opportunity to put these skills into practice through writing exercises.
Led by editor and experienced creative writing teacher Bethany Wright, this class is a chance to experiment with new approaches to writing in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Students will need to bring a pen and paper to write with. If for any reason it is easier for them to use a laptop, they can do so, but will need to be considerate of others when typing.
The class will only go ahead if a minimum number of participants has been booked.
