Enhance your gouache painting skills with this immersive 4-week course! Each week we’ll explore a new theme, with professional gouache artist Julia Tooley offering an introduction and demonstration at the start of every session. You’ll then have plenty of time to paint, with Julia on hand throughout to give personalised advice, encouragement, and guidance.
Together, we’ll dive into the unique possibilities of gouache, experimenting with a range of subjects. We’ll work from photographs, with each participant choosing from a curated selection.
Course Overview
Week 1: Glass & Ceramics: Learn to capture glossy surfaces, subtle reflections, and the sense of light that brings objects to life.
Week 2: Food & Fabric: Explore techniques for rendering texture—from the crust of fresh bread to the softness of woven textiles.
