Join art historian Tania Harrington for an inspiring and immersive session exploring the beauty and meaning of gardens in art. The event begins with a one-hour illustrated talk, Gardens in Art, examining how artists across history, including Bosch, Van Gogh, Leonora Carrington, Stanley Spencer and John Nash, have interpreted nature, from formal landscapes to imagined, symbolic spaces.
Following a short break, the session continues with a relaxed and engaging 1.5-hour practical workshop, Design Your Own Garden. Drawing inspiration from the artworks discussed, you’ll be invited to create your own garden concept—whether real or imagined—guided by your creativity and personal connection to nature.
This workshop has a strong therapeutic element. It’s not about designing a “perfect” garden, but about slowing down, exploring ideas, and allowing your imagination to flow in response to artistic inspiration. You are welcome to make sketches during the talk to support your…
