About the event
Would you love to be able to draw the things you see around you? Do you believe, or have you been told, that you can't? Well, this is the course for you. Everybody can draw; all that's needed is a grasp of a few fundamentals and an ability to really see and understand what you're drawing.
In this short course, you can expect to learn how to convert a colourful world to shades of grey using just the humble pencil, how to recreate curved surfaces on flat paper and how to accurately represent simple forms through observation of perspective and proportion.
Becka Elliott is a qualified teacher with many years experience of teaching the fundamentals of drawing. She'll teach you how to use the humble pencil to replicate light and shade, draw simple but believable three-dimensional shapes, and observe and recreate scale and proportion. All you need is some basic materials and an openness to seeing things in a different light. At the end of the course you will have the opportunity to put your skills into practice in a small still life.
The dates for this course are:
Wednesday 11th September, 19:00-21:00
Wednesday 18th September, 19:00-21:00
