About the event

The Green Man is a folkloric figure shown as a human face made of leaves and plants, symbolising nature’s power and the cycle of growth, death, and rebirth. Though often found in medieval churches, he likely comes from older pagan traditions and represents the deep connection between humans and the natural world.
As part of our Folklore Festival, experienced printmaker and tutor Haychley Webb of Stellabox Designs will be showing you how to create your very own Green Man in the form of a linocut print in this friendly, beginner-focused workshop.
You’ll be guided step by step through the process of designing, carving, and printing your own lino block (just slightly smaller than A5). The workshop is hands-on and fully supported, with clear demonstrations throughout, making it ideal for complete beginners.
