About the event

In this workshop, tutor Becka Elliott will introduce you to the basics of mosaic making including how to use tile cutters and how to grout and finish your work. Using a range of ceramics, commercially produced tiles, buttons and beads you will have the opportunity to create a beautiful Christmas Tree decoration that you can enjoy year after year.

Please be aware that using tile cutters demands a degree of hand strength and that, because ceramics can be sharp, there is a risk of small cuts and nicks. For these reasons safety goggles have to be worn (they are provided and will fit over glasses) and the class is only suitable for adults.

Becka is a qualified teacher and has been both making mosaics and teaching mosaic making for more than 12 years. Her work draws inspiration from many and various places but particularly from her childhood experiences and from the natural world.
