About the event

Tony Winn is known and respected on the English acoustic music scene as a songwriter, poet and performer of a high calibre. Inspired by Dylan and the folk revival to start creating original music as a schoolboy, he’s since soaked up an eclectic range of musical influences resulting in an extensive live repertoire and seven album releases. Tony gained recognition performing in the much loved duo “The Popular Wobblies” later “Short Stories” in the 1980s & 90s but has carried on releasing his own material ever since the band broke up.

Helen Mulley started formal flute lessons at the age of 11, but quickly realised that improvising in pub sessions was a lot more fun than practising scales and has been pretty much doing that ever since. An award-winning singer-songwriter, and former member of the much missed East Anglicana band “Songs from the Blue House”(as is Tony), she can also been seen and heard fronting “Helen & the Neighbourhood Dogs” (also alongside Tony).

Together they present a range of original songs with the odd traditional one thrown in. You can find out more about Tony by visiting his website at: www.tonywinn.org.uk.
