General Information

The Anteros Arts Foundation offers a city central home for the arts and an ideal location for workshops and learning events. The heritage features of the building also lend themselves beautifully to celebrations and special events.

COVID-19: if you are considering booking a room with us at this time, please read through our Risk Assessment document. You will need to send us your own Risk Assessment when you complete your booking form. Please also note, due to current circumstances, our minimum hire requirement has changed; see individual room descriptions below.

We offer room hires for private events, courses, meetings and weddings. Please get in touch by email, phone or by dropping in, with details of your preferred dates and a description of the event. We will take a non-refundable deposit, representing 40% of the total, at the time of booking, and the rest can be paid on completion of your event. ​

All bookings which require Anteros to be closed for the purposes of its usual activities (gallery, heritage, library etc.) will need to be paid for in full and will not usually be refunded in the event of a cancellation.

Fishergate Room

Suitable for meetings, lectures, workshops and rehearsals.

This room has its own entrance stairwell that meets the street on Fishergate. This stairwell can also be accessed via the café or Anteros reception. The room also leads on to the Music Room and can be used as a waiting room/green room or rehearsal space.

Special features include stunning cathedral views, soundproofing, excellent natural light, lift access and a small bar area with a kettle, tea and coffee.

COVID-19 restrictions: the number of people must be limited to 6 households at any one time.

£14 per hour: Tuesday to Saturday 9am - 5pm

Minimum hire charge: £42

Music Room

Suitable for private events, performances, lectures and meetings.

A beautiful room with English oak flooring and a host of original 16th century features including a painted Tudor ceiling. 

The room also contains a a 5'11 Grand Piano, Steinway 1925, Hamburg Factory with original complete set of ivory keys.

COVID-19 restrictions: the number of people must be limited to 10 households at any one time.

£20 per hour: Tuesday to Saturday 9am - 5pm

Minimum hire charge: £60

Main Gallery

The Main Gallery is occasionally available to hire although this is primarily used as an exhibition space.

This is a stunning space with original 16th Century features including a moulded timber ceiling commissioned in 1543 and Tudor fireplace. The mullioned timber window is the longest Tudor window to have been preserved in the county. The floor is paved with Norfolk pamments laid above an underfloor heating system.

£20 per hour: Tuesday to Saturday 9am - 5pm

Minimum hire charge: £60
