This course is open to Qualified Professionals from any profession only. Mentalization is a treatment approach which synthesises this neurobiological and attachment theory perspectives with contemporary psychoanalysis. It offers clear and practical guidelines for the role of specific mirroring processes to support affect regulation and the development of reflective functioning. The aim of the course is practical: to improve mentalization in attendee’s clinical practice as art therapist.

Come and join the conversation as some of the exhibiting artists discuss and share their experience of responding to stories through their practice. This is an informal chat session and is open to everyone including students and families.

Blindness poster drawing with artist Callum Ritchie

A free public workshop to raise awareness of blindness. This poster drawing workshop ran by Callum Ritchie aims to get people to explore blind drawing focusing on individual senses through responding to everyday experiences in public spaces.

Fancy seeing your kindness story made into an illustrated picture? Come in and share your experience of receiving random acts of kindness from strangers and Kazz Morohashi will draw your story as you sit and share your tale. It's kind of like getting your portrait made, except it's a portrait about your kindness experience!

American Abstract Expressionism overshadowed Britain’s place in post WW2 culture.  Fiona will argue that the IG group and its East Anglian member, Henderson, created an alternative, radical and much more nuanced set of ideas about the nature of Art and how artists act.

 

This talk connects to a Nigel Henderson exhibition running at the Tate from 2 December 2019 - 4 April 2020

This workshop will focus on using watercolour and ink, working with layer washes and dip pens to create traditional christmas cards. There will be a nativity and decorations to draw from or feel free to bring along your own sketches!

Tutor James Robinson is a recent graduate from Florence Classical Arts Academy who explores many traditional forms of illustration, painting, drawing and calligraphy and has illustrated several children's books.
