Woodcarving: An Introduction

10am - 5pm
A one-day introductory class to woodcarving.
Gain an understanding of the reductive process of carving, learn to think in three dimensions and practice using a variety of wood carving tools on sycamore or lime wood to produce a rough carving approximately 12” x 6” x 6”.
Tutor: Mark Goldsworthy
Mark Goldsworthy is a full time artist and sculptor.
Mark studied Fine Art at Great Yarmouth and Manchester, and has worked as full time artist since 1988 with studio space firstly in Norwich and latterly, Bungay.
Currently he works using both stone and wood for carving, and wax and clay for modelling and casting in bronze. When he is not sculpting Mark also works in oils and pastels.
Mark's work has been exhibited in England, Wales, Norway, France, Austria, South Africa and America. Several of his large wooden sculptures are held in public collections in both Norfolk and Suffolk.
