Friday February 7th and Saturday February 8th 2020.

Refreshments Provided

Tutor Jan Crombie takes this two day class, suitable for all levels of expertise and focussing on creating a personal response with reference to a model. If appropriate these can be hollowed and made ready to fire during the class, but the emphasis will be on creating an individual, expressive and experimental response.

With reference to Rodin, Henry Moore and Thomas Hauseogo and using charcoal drawings and quickly made small maquettes for planning Jan will teach you to think and build in three dimensions, help you effectively use the properties of clay, and improve your fluency in suggesting the human form.

Techniques of modelling, building up, carving, hollowing, joining, refining and finishing will all be covered in this two-day class. Firing and glazing will be discussed but not included.
