Artist Work Space Terms & Conditions
By applying for a work space, the applicant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
The spaces are open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over. Applying for the spaces should be done using the relevant online form. Applications submitted via post will not be considered.
No responsibility can be accepted for applications not recieved for whatever reason.
Work spaces will be allocated by the Anteros gallery team. Applicants will be notified by email if they have been allocated a space. If the applicant cannot be contacted or does not reply within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the offer.
Anteros’ decision in respect of all matters to do with the Artists' Workspaces will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Any personal data relating to the applicant or any other persons will be used solely in accordance with current [UK] data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the applicants prior consent.
Accepted applicants will need to sign and agree to a contract and pay a deposit before using the space.
Once offered a space applicants will become studio holders and will need to abide by the Anteros Studio Holders' Code of Conduct.
Anteros Studio Holders' Code of Conduct:
Do not leave furniture, materials or artworks anywhere which may block direct pathways to fire escapes or present a slip hazard
When entering and leaving, please sign in and out in the fire book.
All electrical equipment will need to be PAT tested.
Do not share the door code or copy your key without written permission from Anteros.
No solvents including white spirit, methylated spirits or glue of any kind to be disposed of down the sink. Please take them home with you to store.
No painting mediums, gesso, clay or plaster to be disposed of down the sink.
No nails or screws in walls or woodwork, unless with written permission.
Always use a cutting mat to protect surfaces before cutting down onto desk or floor.
Please keep studio space, floors, walls, ceiling and fittings and fixtures clean and return in the condition you started with.
Use your space frequently or let us know if you are going away. If we do not see you for three weeks without having heard that you will be away, we will contact you to ask if you still require a studio space here at Anteros.
If you need to use the lift please contact a member of staff at Anteros to arrange a mutually convenient time. It is not permitted for studio holders to use the lift without a member of staff present. If you need to bring art work or equipment through the café for any reason, please contact a member of staff at the Merchant’s House, prior to the removal, to arrange a mutually convenient time.
Any upholstered furniture which you bring to use in your studio must have a fire certificate.
All studio holders must adhere to Anteros’ Fire Safety Policy, Health and Safety Policy and Safeguarding Policy. It is the studio holder’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with these documents.

Studio holders will keep studio space, floors, walls, ceilings and fittings and fixtures clean and return these in the same condition as before, studio holders accept that a deposit will be taken at the start of the hire period to ensure this.
Studio holders agree that Anteros may take reasonable deductions from the deposit at the end of the hire period for the following purposes:

to replace any items which are missing or damaged from the space at the end of the hire;

to pay any rent which remains unpaid at the end of the hire;

To cover the reasonable removal, storage and disposal costs if the studio holder has left possessions in the property;

To pay the reasonable cleaning costs incurred by Anteros due to the studio holder leaving the space unclean.
Anteros shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.
Anteros also reserves the right to cancel the offer of the spaces if circumstances arise outside of its control.
The application process and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
